We’re The Same, But I’m Better Than You!

My late grandfather used to work in the local electric department in our vicinity. He had a normal job, a stable income, and a big family - 5 kids and a wife to be precise.

He was very good at his job. He knew exactly what your electrical problems were and how to fix them.

His family wasn’t particularly poor. Nor was it particularly rich. It was right there in the middle, very much like most families back at the time.

He narrated a story to me once:

Once a king had a son who fell in love with the fisherman’s daughter. The prince loved this girl very much and wanted to get married. So the king sent the proposal to the fisherman’s house, asking for their daughter. However, the fisherman said no - and scolded them instead, saying that the king’s family wasn’t worth the marriage and started abusing the people who came with the proposal. This worried the king because the prince absolutely loved this girl and wouldn’t want anybody else. After a few days, a wise man came into the court and offered a solution.

What this wise man did was go to the fisherman’s house and hurled stones at his house, abusing him the same way he did before and telling the fisherman that his worth is absolutely nothing and that he’s mush and goo. The fisherman couldn’t say anything back and asked the wise man what he wanted. The wise man asked him to accept the king’s proposal for his daughter to which he said - ‘That’s it? Thank God. I ABSOLUTELY AGREE’. This wise man went back to the court and told the king - All I did was stoop to his level. And I won.

My grandfather’s job was to make ends meet, which he did very well. Sure the money wasn’t great, but he was extremely wealthy beyond the avenues of cash. He was intellectual, extremely articulate with his words, and a very intelligent man.

He was such a man who made predictions about the future that turned out to be a hundred percent true. He once said - “There will be a time when everything will be done by machines and robots at the press of a single button but humans are so lazy that they will fight about who’s going to press the button.

Despite his intellect, he had a few people around who didn’t like his wit and wisdom mainly because of their arrogance. One of the most common things I’ve heard in his criticism from people is “He might be smart or whatever but he used to carry around ladders”.

These are the same people who work measly jobs and think that somehow they are better than everybody else.

I AM A DIFFICULT MAN TO AFFECT. BUT IT’S SURPRISING WHEN A PERSON, WHO DOES X THING CRITICIZE OTHERS FOR DOING X THINGS.

THAT’S A VERY UNIQUELY ANNOYING SCENARIO!

Who is a hypocrite?

Somebody that says something and doesn’t believe it themselves?

Or somebody that will use virtue signaling to prove that they are better than others even if they are exactly the same as others?

I asked Google, and here’s what it said - A hypocritical character abuses the trust of others and often will play upon that trust to get what they want.

DOES THAT REMIND YOU OF SOMEBODY?
